The William J. Moore Tennis Center is located on Washington Street in Cape May, NJ, amid the surroundings of a fine old estate with its large shade trees, hedges, lawn and garden once owned by Dr. Emlen Physick.

An unusual feature at the center is the arrangement of four of the tennis courts in pairs. Each pair is surrounded by tall, private hedges in what once had been a part of the garden of the estate. The hedges provided protection from the wind and glare of the seashore and the courts in pairs limit the number of players walking behind and across the courts to retrieving errant tennis balls.

The courts are open to the public and there are 14 clay courts and 2 all weather courts. The Tennis Club is open year round weather permitting.

The William J. Moore Tennis Center offers private lessons, rents equipment and can help to arrange games. The courts are used by both adults and children. There are tennis clinics for adults and children and many tournaments are conducted every summer.
